Who stood against the tyrants and preserved the legacy of Ashura?

Who stood against the tyrants and preserved the legacy of Ashura?
Allah (SWT) said in the holy Quran that the oppressors do not observe any rules or agreements and constantly betray others and ignore all the basic rules [1]. Therefore there is no hope that they are bound to certain ways or follow specific rules and if they have a philosophy in life, it will not be anything but disbelief and corruption [2]. The oppressors have always tried to control the public opinion by various methods. In the past this was carried out by poems, magic and sorcery and creating the atmosphere of fear. When the events of Ashura occurred in Karbala, the propaganda organization of the tyrant of the time Yazid used poems and fabricated false narrations to portray Imam Hussain (AS) as a foreigner and his revolution as a plot against the Islamic Caliph! Therefore the public opinion was influenced into believing that Imam Hussain (AS) and his f ...

Do we feel that Allah doesn’t break His promise to us?

Do we feel that Allah doesn't break His promise to us?
Why did Iblees tell Allah all of this? Because he knew that Allah's promise is the truth. When Allah told Iblees he was from those given respite he also knew that Allah doesn't break His promise. How about us when we make du`a' (supplication)? Do we feel that Allah doesn't break His promise to us? Are we as confident in our du`a' as Iblees, who is the enemy of Allah ? How is it possible that Iblees can be more confident in his du`a' than us? "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]." (Qur'an 7:16-17) When Shaytan blamed Allah by saying, "Because You have put me error," this was a mistake in his belief in the qadr (decree) of Allah . If done on purpose, ...

What is Allah’s Signs in the Universe?

What is Allah's Signs in the Universe?
The entire universe worships its Creator with paramount joy and pride, with neither fatigue nor boredom ever befalling it. This is a truth which humans, owing to their restricted aptitude, will never be able to comprehend. As a result of their arrogance and ignorance though, human beings have developed their own perceptions in relation to many a secret of both the animate and inanimate worlds that surround them. However, most of the existing views and theories are dubious, at best, as they rest on no definite epistemological source. The unsurpassed and only source of trustworthy knowledge in this regard is revelation, that is, the revealed knowledge wherein many secrets of other worlds have been disclosed by the Creator and Sustainer of every creature, as well as the knowledge that derives its authority and orientation from the revealed word. This reality no ...

Do you want to talk with God?

Do you want to talk with God?
God communicated with prophets through direct speech, like in the case of Moses (peace be upon him) so that in Islam he was entitled ''Kalimullah'' or the one who always talked to God. The Qur’an says what means: {Allah talked to Moses.} (An-Nisaa' 4:164) Or He communicated with them through indirect speech (revelation), like in the case of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Qur’an says: {And unto you have We revealed the Scripture (Qur’an) with the truth confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a watcher over it.} (Al-Ma'idah5:48) And: {Lo! We, it is who have revealed the Reminder (Qur’an), and lo! We will guard it.} (Al-Hijr 15:9) In the context of our humble human level, although we are not angels or prophets, yet, in His wisdom, God does not keep Himself aloof from us, but He makes Himself easy to reach, and makes comm ...

He cared not for the dressings of power. The ...

Why is it that Islam does not task woman with the same duties of man as it is in the West?

Why is it that Islam does not task woman with the same duties of man as it is in the West?
When a woman take on the same responsibility of a man; she will definitely be obliged to drift away from their motherhood because she would, then, be expected to work extremely hard in order to allow this responsibility to flourish, to be worthwhile and to give it the chance for expansion. All of that hard work would be simultaneously accompanied by the heavy burdens of motherhood; and that will have a great effect on her role as a mother, on the family and on the society as well. Since the fatherhood of the male does not lie in his physical structure as a man unlike the woman whose motherhood is based on her body as a female; this simple fact makes it a lot easier for a man to be a father than a woman to be a mother. And it is natural that motherhood, although it does not cancel all the abilities of a woman, burdens the mother heavily both physically and ...
