Q: What is the difference between a person who travels frequently and who travels for work purposes all the time? When is a person considered as frequent traveler?
A: Although one travels frequently, unless travelling is his job or a preliminary to his job, it does not make prayer two rak‘ahs. In general, no rule is applied to being a frequent traveler nor is it subject to any shar‘ī rule; rather, full prayer and fasting are the duties of those whose job is travelling (e.g. a pilot, a driver, etc.) or those who travel to work (e.g. an employee, a worker who travels for a shar‘ī distance to work). They say full prayer and fast on the way as well as in the departure and destination cities.
